Lady Snowblood centers around the title character, an assassin who seeks vengeance against the bandits who raped her mother and murdered her father, often using her sexual appeal as a weapon.

Modesty Blaise is a comic strip featuring a fictional character of the same name, created by Peter O'Donnell (writer) and Jim Holdaway (art) in 1963. The strip follows the adventures of Modesty Blaise, an exceptional young woman with many talents and a criminal past, and her trusty sidekick Willie Garvin. It was adapted into films made in 1966, 1982, and 2003 and a series of thirteen novels and short story collections, beginning in 1965.

In 1996 the project "Crown Lynn New Zealand' - A Salvage Operation" a Rudolf Boelee collaboration with graphic designers Brian Shields and Craig Stapley was exhibited at the High Street Project Gallery, Christchurch and City Gallery, Wellington. "Crown Lynn New Zealand" was a breakdown of distinction of pop culture and serious culture, different genres and different art forms and also investigated some of the ideas of "De Stijl", a group of Dutch artists, architects and designers, active in the early part of the 20th century. Some of their ideas may be summarized as: "An insistence of the social role of art, design and architecture and a conviction that art and design have the power to change the future."

Based on Rudolf Boelee paintings, printed and designed in New Zealand on folded A6 white card. The images are the New Zealand Railway Cup, Crown Lynn Swan, Crown Lynn Modernist Vase and Mr GE Free, envelopes provided

One of the most famous Kiwi icons of the twentieth century is the New Zealand Railways cup and saucer, manufactured by Crown Lynn Potteries of Auckland. The white Railways cup has the N.Z.R. logo and a crown painted on it in blue glaze. The saucer is emblazoned with the same motif.

David Jenkin, the head of the Crown Lynn design department, copied the design for the swans from overseas, and from the late 1940s, swans were produced in various sizes and finishes. By the middle of the 1970s the demand for swan vases had been significantly reduced. Swans represented an old fashioned style and were rejected by young New Zealanders looking for new ideas in interior design. However the swans are undergoing a revival.

!965 Fiat 500, price NZ $55, 1966 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, price NZ $65, 1950 Morris Minor 'Ute', price NZ $17 and available from Pug Design Store, 228 Kilmore Street, Christchurch, New Zealand or from our online store.

The Fiat 500 (the "cinquecento", /tʃin.kwe.tʃɛn.to/, or "chin-kwe-chen-to", from the Italian word for "500") is a car produced by the Fiat company of Italy between 1957 and 1975 (the Fiat 500 K alone was produced until 1977). It was designed by Dante Giacosa. Launched as the Nuova 500 in July 1957,[2] it was marketed as a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only 3 meters (~10 feet) long, and originally powered by a tiny 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term "small car" and is considered one of the first city cars.

The Karmann Ghia was marketed from 1955 to 1974 by Volkswagen as a 2+2 coupe and as a convertible — both incorporating the commonplace chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1, evocative styling by the Italian carrozzeria Ghia, and hand-built bodywork by German coach-builder Karmann.

The Morris Minor was a popular British motor car aimed at the family market. It was the work of a team led by Alec Issigonis, who would go on to design (and be knighted for) the successful Mini. The Minor was launched at the Earls Court Motor Show, London, on 20 September 1948. The prototype had been known as the Morris Mosquito, and some later models were called Morris Minor 1000. It should not be confused with the earlier Morris Minor of 1928.
